Big news! At the end of January, the layout of our factory will undergo a complete renewal. Our current CNC machining centre will be replaced by a new model, the Raptor Ultra 1632 from AES. Additionally, we will be integrating an AES panel saw into our production process. “By adding new machines to our manufacturing process, we can optimize our workflow and ensure future growth,” says Drumarkon Director Johan van Tilburg.
“In 2023, Drumarkon’s volume capacity increased by 20%,” Van Tilburg responds when asked about the reason for the upcoming adjustments to the production process. “Our company is constantly growing. We want to continue the upward trend from 2023 into 2024. But to achieve that, there needs to be an investment.”
More work with the same number of hands
Van Tilburg explains that the workshop will be completely emptied in week four and then reorganized, with operations resuming in the beginning of February. While the new machines are being installed, the rest of production will continue as usual. He explains the upcoming changes: “The first adjustment has already been made. Recently, the new extraction system was installed.” He continues: “The press line, sanding machine, edge bander, and saw line will remain. The current CNC machine (also a Raptor from the Turkish brand AES) will be replaced by a brand-new Raptor Ultra. Additionally, a new panel saw from AES will be introduced. Thanks to the upcoming changes to our factory line, we can produce more, more efficiently, and faster with the same number of people.”
Confidence in machine supplier Karat
Karat Nederland B.V. is responsible for supplying the new CNC machining center. Van Tilburg indicates that he had no hesitation in choosing to work with Karat again. “Drumarkon and Karat have been working together pleasantly for years. Together with Karat, I went to Bursa, Turkey, to inspect a machine. We visited various factories, and the feeling was immediately good.” Karat is also handling the delivery of the new panel saw.
Future
Van Tilburg looks forward to the upcoming period. “The renewals are a crucial step towards a bright future for Drumarkon. There is a lot of work ahead, but we have full confidence that everything will turn out well. We’re excited about it,” he concludes.
